Article Rewrite – Tips

Whilst it is not an uncommon practice, rewriting articles can only be properly done by those who have sufficient knowledge when it comes to the things that they should and should not be doing. For some people, it could be a one way ticket to copyright infringement and could spell some major trouble for their business. But that only happens if the articles were done sloppily. An article rewrite, for some people, seems like the lazy and unintelligent way of going about things. However, this is certainly not the case as it could become quite handy in certain situations. Now, for those amongst us who are not so knowledgeable about how it works, it would certainly be very helpful if we had a guide to follow.
Contrary to popular belief, article rewriting is not a copy and paste process wherein the only thing that you would change would be the resource box. Blatantly copying someone else’s work would be where your troubles begin and as such, should be avoided at all costs. Efficient rewriting involves plenty of research and of course, time. In order to get you off on the right foot, here are a few tips to keep in mind.
- Find two or more articles that are related to the topic you’re writing about. Researching from a single article would certainly limit you not just in terms of information but would also narrow your selective vision as well. Having multiple articles to get information from is certainly better and would allow you to be more creative when it comes to putting them together.
- Read every article entirely. Sure, this would take quite a bit of time but simply skimming through an article and picking things to rewrite would certainly hinder you from having a solid piece that flows easily from a piece of information to the next. This is what separates a successful article rewrite from one that is a mere copy and paste version of the original. Needless to say, you want this transition to be as seamless as possible.
- Using the information that you were able to gather from the articles, you can begin writing the foundation of your article. Having an outline would certainly help you organize your ideas better and at the same time, help you build a more solid article. If there are certain pieces of information that doesn’t really fit in your article, it would be wise to edit it out. After all, you want your article to be as tight as possible with very little resemblance to the original ones.
Now, it would also be wise to change the structure of the article itself. For example, if the original piece presented an argument regarding the topic you have chosen then you might want to head for a different direction when it comes to yours. You can either go for a proposition or something informative in order to completely deviate from the original article. Whilst there are no standard rules for when you’re doing an article rewrite, there are certain things that you have to keep in mind in order to avoid troubles down the road.
